I just want to voice my thoughts on the recent outbreak of middle ages style cruelty we've seen in the last year or so, hostage beheadings.
i don't want to glorify it in any way, which is why i didn't post any links, but i thought it worth mentioning since it exsists and has the capability of nudging our daily reality into surreality.
But the fact that it has mainly been an internet waged terror tactic strikes a chord with me. Each of these abductions and subsequent atrocities have been carefully choreographed and filmed as propaganda pieces, which can only be readily dispersed through the web, and it begs the question, would these kidnappings have happened if the ability to broadcast them so quickly and cheaply was not available? hmmmm....
