Gang fight on West Ferry damages cars, Laundromat
About 50 young people fought with each other in a gang fight Wednesday afternoon in the 200 block of West Ferry Street and, in the process, caused thousands of dollars in property damage to a building and cars, police said.
The brawl, which involved bottles and knives as weapons, started just before 2:40 p. m. and progressed toward the 300 block of West Ferry, when one of the youths picked up a bucket of roofing tar and threw it at a Laundromat, causing $1,200 damage to the building.
Central District police said tar also splattered on a 2003 Ford Focus and a 1998 Buick Regal. No arrests were reported.
